Just wanted to give you an update. We are in our second week of participation with the “Words of Wisdom” Project, and it is a huge success! We’ve already got about a dozen signs up and about half a dozen church members involved actively and are excited to see how quickly it is catching on. As well as the enthusiasm of so many business owners wanting to be a part of it. Thank you so much for sharing this ministry with us. It is truly a blessed work!

The “Words of Wisdom” Project has been a tremendous blessing to not only my personal ministry, but to my church congregation, and to my town. It has really taken off, with more than 20 businesses (including dry cleaners, mechanics, machine shops, restaurants, hardware stores, pharmacies, etc.) gladly keeping a sign posted in their establishments, and counting. What I didn’t expect, however, is how much this has done to bolster my specific situation as a brand new preacher (and resident) in the town. It has blossomed into a great relationship builder between myself and many business owners, as well as their managers, their employees, and even their family members! In no indirect way, it has introduced me to this town as the “new preacher on the block” who deeply loves the Word of God, wants to publicly share it everywhere, and wants to connect to people one-on-one right where they live and work. It has been an incredibly effective icebreaker in countless scenarios where a conversation may never have started, and as the signs grow in their visibility and recognition, it’s become something that the whole city is starting to give notice to.  I can’t recommend this ministry more for any new preacher that is looking for a fun, versatile and non-intrusive way to get to know his new town and to have them get to know him back.

We are so pleased to display the “Words of Wisdom” Project in our Blacksmith Shop. People will stop to read the verse, and some will comment and begin to share their needs. Our business is God’s business, and we are fortunate to be able to minister, love on, pray with or just encourage those who stop in. The verses encourage us too. We feel God has placed a light here for those who are in need. Then we are available for whatever God needs us to do. Jesus said to be light. Matt. 5:14-16, and we are thankful we are included in His great plan.

The “Words of Wisdom” Project has been such a HUGE blessing for so many …. I’ve had folks tell me sometimes that verse spoke directly to their need that day! That’s the POWER OF THE WORD…. All we have to do is get it out there and God does the rest! I even had one business owner say “could you change my verse … I’ve already memorized that one!”
